TRI HAMILTON ISLAND

First up was a week long triathlon workshop involving some of the Australia’s best in the business of nutrition, physical therapies, national class swim coaches…you get the picture. I arrived on the island in time to tag along to the closing dinner, have a few beers, a chat and meet the workshop group.
Next day my highlight. Friday saw boats loads of people head out to world famous whithaven beach for a 2km ocean swim race. Not much time to look at the senery while racing, but time to enjoy the beach after.
This was no muck around race either. Think I swam awesome to sit in on the lead pack for 90% of the swim before Ky Hurst and his buddies put their foot down over the final few hundred. Spent!
Saturday: recovery day to have some cocktails by the pool and do a little snorkling of the main beach. Saw stingrays, massive turtle, reef sharks all close to shore. Who needs to go to the outer reefs?

catchy little title, LOL
