Have arrived in Seoul for round two of the ITU World Championship Series. Bit on the chilly side for a summer sport, but you race in what you are given. I just say thanks to the creator of Wetsuits!

Has been a very hectic last few weeks trying to get everything sorted for the next five months out of the country. The best bit is taking your seat on the first leg of the plane trip and knowing that there is nothing more you can do for the next 7 hours of so. Throw on a movie and just chill out for the first time in a few weeks…..the travel isn’t too bad after that as there are limits as to what you can achieve while on the move around the globe. By the way got stung for $440 dollars excess for the Brisbane – Singapore – Korea first leg of the trip….I was happy with that as initially they were trying to get over $800 out of me. I was only 31kg over the allowance. That isn’t to much to ask is it? They are a good mob at Singapore Airlines though…I have found they give me the least grief traveling out of all the airlines and always friendly service.

Onto the racing side of my life. Can’t wait to get back into the swing of it after the last few months. Lets just say I am 110% that I made the right choice in skipping the first round of WCS in Sydney. I just wasn’t right and over the last few weeks I have finally realised much trouble I was having back in March while sick. I am just happy to be 100% healthy again and now can concentrate on the main job. Their will be plenty of chances to do the job over the next 5 months. Racing Sth Korea, France, Spain, USA, GB, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary then back for Noosa! Plus the chance I may be able to squeeze a few others in along the way.

Next week get to set up in Aix Les Bains, France for the summer (European) training. I think I have timed it very well as the weather on the Gold Coast has just started to get slightly cooler in the mornings and with the temperatures similar in Aix right now the climate is heading in the warmer direction….then I will be back home just in time to catch summer coming back in OZ.

Keep an eye out on ONE HD back in Australia for the racing in Sth Korea this weekend highlights Saturday @ 7:30pm….but there is always ITU website with a live telecast as well if interested.

Couple of weekends ago I finally got over to Perth for one of the RedBull Airrace’s. Normally the event has clashed with the Noosa Triathlon weekend so I have never been able to attend, but this year with a free weekend me and wife were there with bells on. Parties, hot days out on the lake watching the race, more parties and eating. Good distraction from training for a few days….even if I still had to run a few laps of the swan lake each morning before things got happening. few pics below.
